Alloha to you all,
Another of my (Getting unfortunately regular) Quick updates, on Life the dev-verse and all things coding.
For those of you who like our Lidnug presentations we have 2 coming up in the next 3 weeks.
First off, your’s truly will be doing a presentation on good project management and organisation practices using Visual Studio, I’ll be covering a subject that’s very rarely touched on in the developer community, and that’s some common sense tips on organising your projects in Visual Studio and the reasons why you might want to adopt them.
You can find out more on our Eventbrite page and register for it here:
We also have the Gu coming back, we all know just how much you love Scott-Gu’s open Q&A developer sessions, but we’ve had a lot of reschedules latley, it appears there’s still enough Gu to go around though as we’ve now got the session on the 25th July (It was Originally on the 11th). Again as with all our presentations you can find more at the eventbrite page here:
For those of you who live in the UK or / and are able to get to Durham University, I’ll be speaking in Person on the 21st July about the subject of Smartphone Development at a VBUG presentation.
The venue will be at St Marys College
21st July 2011
Meeting Room: Kenworthy Hall
I’ll be covering what it means to develop for smart-phones in the modern era, and what choices you’ll have, along with my partner in Tech David Lashley, who’ll be there to fill in (and field off) any questions on Apple iOS development.
I’d also like to point you at a very excellent post my work colleague and good friend Terry Brown ( @terry_brown ) recently posed on his Blog at Idisposable.co.uk , if your toying with or even just looking at adopting some good unit testing practices then Terry’s post is an absolute MUST READ. I work in the same office as Terry and it has to be said the practices he and the team have developed really have changed the way things are done and for the better, I can’t recommend it any more highly than I have, and I’m going to make it a personal Mission to get Terry to speak on Lidnug about the subject. 🙂
